Past Department Commander, Jeff Perkins is doing another bike ride this year from Texas to the National Convention in Tampa, Florida. Accompanying him are SAL PDCs Bill Kuehner and Tom Arista, and Legion/SAL dual members David Kemp and Joe Johnston.
They left Carrollton on August 2nd and plan to arrive in Tampa on August 21st. The goal is to raise money and awareness of PTSD in veterans, active duty, and first responders. They have received incredibly warm welcomes and support from Legion Posts and police and fire departments along the way and are chronicling their journey on Facebook at “American Legion Ride for PTSD”, with lots of pictures and stories daily.
