Past Department Commander & NECMAN Ronald G. Cherry, age 74, passed away February 18, 2022 in San Antonio, TX.
Visitation is on Friday, February 25, 2022 from 6:00pm – 8:00pm at Sunset Funeral Home, 1702 Austin Highway, San Antonio and Funeral Services are on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at 12:00 pm at Sunset Funeral Home and Graveside Service on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at 9:30am at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, Shelter #3, located at 1520 Harry Wurzback, San Antonio.
Ron honorably served 21 years in the United States Air Force & was a proud Vietnam Veteran active in the American Legion as a life member for 49 years having served as Post Commander of William M Randolph Post 593, Windcrest Post 612 and Missing Man Post 667, 20th District, Third Division, Department of Texas and as National Executive Committeeman. He has served numerous other offices as well a member of or Chairman of numerous committees on all levels. Ron also was a life member of VFW Post 4676.
